It became known about the performance ratings of the module integrated into the new chip SoC Exynos 2200 from AMD. This GPU in the 3DMark Wild Life GPU test scores similar to the Apple A14 Bionic.

This AMD GPU-based design is being lab tested for performance in the next Exynos-based flagship platform. So far, it is known that the performance of this mounting system is excellent. Thus, for the time being, this is the most advanced platform in terms of performance. It surpasses all known GPU Mail analogues.

In detail:

The new processor and integrated graphics processor is expected to be used in the latest flagship models of Samsung devices. This includes both smartphones – such as the Samsung Z Fold 3 – and laptops with improved battery life. The energy efficiency of such gadgets is also being tested. Nothing is yet known about the results.



There is also information about the technological process, on the basis of which will be released SoC Exynos 2200. Namely, that it is a 5-nanometer variant of the chip. Therefore, its energy efficiency indicators are also expected to be quite high.

With whom it competes:

In addition, the processors with which the new Exynos 2200 will have to compete have also become known. These are the two main opponents: the Apple M1 and Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2.

The chip will be made using a 5-nm process and can become the basis not only for smartphones and tablets. It will also be available for Windows laptops. Thus, Samsung’s new solution will try to compete with the Apple M1 and Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2.

Test results:

Given the data that the central chip is based on the Cortex-A77 core (developed by ARM), the performance is clearly on point.



In the 3DMark Wild Life GPU graphics test, the Exynos 2200 processor, assembled on a single-chip platform, gave 8134 points. At the same time recorded an average frame rate of 50.3 fps.

Approximately similar results are shown by the Apple A14 Bionic (mounted in the iPhone 12 Pro Max smartphone). And the closest predecessors, Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888, got 5300 and 5400 points.
