In 2020, many previously widely unused technologies, thanks to the development of the situation in the world and contrary to the forecasts of analytical agencies for 2019, finally began to grow and fully work in the global industrial space.


What can be attributed to industry? With the arrival of IT technologies (data centers, cloud solutions) in almost all areas of our life, up to the concepts of “smart cities”, autopilots in taxis, sea vessels and mining equipment, it is already difficult to surprise anyone with something new.


However, the field of biotechnology has been hidden from public attention for a long time due to its knowledge intensity in terms and definitions – for example, genetic engineering is still fraught with a degree of complexity for understanding no less than quantum physics…




But now the development of technology makes it possible to bring the industrial aspect of activity even in such industries as, for example, agriculture – through the development and implementation of digital tools that make it possible to increase the efficiency of doing business, spending and renewing resources while improving the quality of products.

In view of the trend towards global population growth, such innovations were launched on time – according to the UN, by 2050 there will be up to 9.7 billion people on Earth. The number of cities is growing, and at the same time the amount of land suitable for agriculture is being drastically reduced. There are also many examples when neither chemical, nor physical, nor biotechnological methods no longer give the desired effect of increasing productivity while maintaining the necessary quality, but only destroy both the fertile land itself and dramatically change the accompanying geological parameters of the area for the worse – reduce the water content and increase the salt content in the soil…


According to the same UN forecasts, without a sufficiently sharp technological leap in agriculture using digitization of the entire cycle of doing such business – from creating an up – to – date database of soils with real data on their condition, monitoring their use, and then building up only environmentally sound solutions in technologies for growing various crops and animals-it will be impossible to meet demand.


The second direction is the creation of 3D printers for printing food, but, nevertheless, the same substrate for printing should also be made using information technology and, of course, many analysts say here that it is necessary to use artificial intelligence with its integrated approach. In other words, in conditions of a huge number of variables and unstable conditions, it is the development of AI modules for agriculture that will help solve the problem of reproduction of biological resources.


Another important aspect of technology development is the preparation of the appropriate infrastructure – fiber, communications, data centers and what they contain- hosting and virtual servers. Without this whole system of data transmission and processing, combined in a single block on Geology, soil science and climatology with meteorology, it will be impossible to take full advantage of all the advantages of modern digital systems.
